This past weekend I attended a PDX event at Rockingham, put on by the NC region of the SCCA (sports car club of america). It was unreal. Going around a NASCAR turn at 90 mph is amazing. The suspension just compresses and you are held to the surface by gobs of g forces. I had so much fun. My skills really improved through the infield road course throughout the weekend too. The infield was such a challenge, trying to heel-toe, hit the apex, brake hard and late, being patient...etc.

These are just a few pictures from the weekend, there are plenty more that I will post on a picture site and add a link to soon.
Oh, and hanging out in the NASCAR garages until 10:30 Saturday night was pretty cool too.

So this is from last weekend's Gatorcross at Lake Waccamaw, NC. This was, unfortunately, one of my worst runs of the day. But hey, at least I've got video of myself! Rock on!

Autocross fun!

Yes, that's me racing yesterday (7/15/07). I had a blast! Though I must admit my car looks a bit empty without sponsors...hint hint. An Elmo's Diner sponsor would look great over that rear fender!
I think I'm starting to get a little bit better. The more seat time I have the better I'll get. There is another race in two weeks at New River Air Station in Jacksonville, NC. I hear that one is a blast since we have so much room to play with.

P.S. - I'm going to try and start using this sucker once in a while, actually post pictures and such, so stay tuned!

For those that were curious, here are some pictures of my car post-repair.

Here is a pic of it right after Mr. Eyedontyield pulled out in front of me.

I suppose now I just have to decide whether to keep it or trade it for another. Decisions, decisions...
Okay, I suppose it is time for my first post.

It will take some serious effort and encouragement for me to start posting on a regular basis.

In the meantime...here is a picture of the new boat! Behold, ye mighty PIPE DREAM!

It has been loads of fun so far and I can't wait to get out on the water and hopefully go fishing for the first time this weekend! So come one, come all and let's go boating!

(Yes, it's Carolina blue :-) !)
